It's a family run business owned by Jo Sime and Gianni di Lorenzo. Gianni, a native of San Remo on the Italian Riviera is passionate about people, food and has a lifetime’s experience in providing fine food, good wine and great hospitality mainly in his beloved Pembrokeshire. Gianni with his wife Jo & the rest of the team will offer you a warm welcome.

THE BENCH is an Italian style Coffee, Wine Bar & Ice Cream Parlour with Internet Access, a meeting place in the very heart of St David's. with starters, mains & the days ‘bench specials’ adjusted according to seasonal availability concentrating on the Italian theme with pizzas to eat in or take away & lots of pasta. During the shooting season Gianni shoots his own game & cooks this in the restaurant, Woodcock partridge & pheasant being available in abundance . likewise during the summer months we serve fresh locally sourced crab & lobster & other fish as they become available.

With friendly locally sourced staff a very special atmosphere has been created which has helped to make the bench an important part of st davids every day life.

Gianni’s wife jo sime displays her photos around the restaurant which include puffins seals & local landscapes all of which are available for sale in various formats including a wide selection of cards & canvas prints.

With a garden outside it gives customers the chance to eat alfresco & the opportunity to pop in for a coffee, glass of wine or afternoon tea, there are a wonderful selection of cakes & pastries available from the patisserie.

Children are welcome at all times & dogs are welcome outside.

With gianni’s famous artisan ice creams which are made on the premises it’s the complete Italian experience! There are around 20 flavours available at all times, these change daily with hundreds of flavours that Gianni has up his sleeve! All the ice creams are made with local organic milk from caerfai farm. Throughout the year Gianni always has a choice of sorbets & sugar free ice cream to choose from.
