Strictly speaking this town is split into two, Arma is the modern seaside resort while medieval Taggia is a very old historical town which is worth spending some time to soak up the atmosphere walking through the ancient arches & taking a look at the shops & bars some of which go back hundreds of years.
Opposite the bridge is an olive oil making business, during the autumn people bring their olives down here where they are made into oil, it is worth taking a look inside to watch this fascinating experience.
There is a medieval footbridge over the river which used to allow traders with mules to enter the town from the hills

All homecooked & excellent value. Situated in the old square Taggia. A family run business with a different menu every day. Many locals can be seen eating here especially at lunch time. There are also bars on the square which are perfect for an aperitif before dinner.
